I really love your paintings. Your marks are so fresh– lovely, lovely work. I especially love the monotypes. Your design and color sense are really impressive and kind of unusual, I think. I’m glad you get to be a great artist now. I’m looking forward to a time when I get to spend more time on painting, but I wonder if I’ll ever get to your level of competency. I feel sort of cowed looking at your work.

Dear Logan
If you are the son of Ruth Speirs, the translator of Rilke and friend of Bernard Spencer, I wonder if we could be in contact about the survival of any of the poet’s correspondence sent to Ruth, or of any manuscripts deposited with her when he was stationed abroad with the British Council. I am editing a new edition of Spencer’s works, and also collecting correspondence for a possible selection of his letters.
