Recently, Hannah was invited to the launch of Keen’s new Terradora shoes in Hampstead Heath. Led by Sophie Everard, the group of enthusiastic participants followed Sophie’s instructions as they tested out the Terradoras with running, lunges, squats and many more HIIT exercises. Since then, Hannah has been using them at every available opportunity to let you, our readers, know what they are like.
Keen’s Terradora TrailFit are a comfortable all round shoe that can be used for hiking, running and at the gym. I have a high instep and have found the Terradora shoes comfortable and flexible as they provide support to your feet. Perfect for London’s capricious weather, the Terradoras are waterproof, yet breathable and are easy to clean. They do not feel clumpy or bulky, like other hiking boots do. Instead, they are lightweight and have become my first choice when packing for an active holiday.
“The Terradora showcases KEEN’s commitment to the evolution of adventure footwear for women. Inspired by KEEN’s brand new workout category, TrailFit, the Terradora is a shoe built to bridge women’s needs between the gym and the mountain, the trail and the city.” Keen
The Terradoras were put to the test in Hampstead Heath as Sophie Everard had us doing exercises, such as sprinting, lunging and doing press-ups. The shoes did not constrict my movements, but instead supported my ankle as I dutifully copied Sophie. They felt comfortable and a little spongy (similar to memory foam) on the soul of my foot, due to the cushioning. I did not feel the rugged terrain when we went through the woods, instead I felt confident that my feet were well protected and supported.
Unlike many other sports shoes, where the shoe is a smaller replica of the men’s style, the Terradora is designed specifically for women. The shoe supports the arch of a woman’s foot with flexible padding and the extra cushioning around the ankle creates comfort and support too. These all round shoes are suitable for hiking or running in the city or the country and are a great all encompassing style that are lightweight; an obvious first choice for your holiday suitcase.
The Terradora shoe does come up a tad big, so I would recommend trying on a shoe a size smaller for a better fit. The shoes took a few runs before I ‘broke them in’, causing a blister, but now they have molded to my feet, they are so comfortable and I admit I even wear them to the shops!
