The vegan movement is getting stronger and it’s time to sit up and take notice. It’s hit the mainstream big time with the likes of Beyonce giving it a go, for health and environmental reasons. Did you know Alicia Silverstone, Jared Leto, Tobey Maguire and Portia de Rosso are all vegan too? Animal cruelty and the practices around mass-production of food have also been causing outrage. Veganuary, a popular movement where people choose to adopt a vegan diet during the month of January is gathering momentum so it’s no surprise to us that the first vegan festival is hitting London.
Held in Stour Space, a converted factory 5 minutes walk from Hackney Wick overground station, Vegan Futures will encompass everything vegan, with a strong focus on fitness, health and wellbeing and fashion. The fantastic line-up of plant-based innovators, sports people and chefs will captivate and have you thinking, as well as doing, during this day of workshops, talks and panel discussions.
Best of all? It’s a fun and friendly, non-judgemental place for people to learn, be inspired, discuss and understand more about a vegan lifestyle. The line-up includes a wide range of people, including our favourites: Chef Katy Beskow aka Lil Miss Meat-Free, Tim Shieff, athlete and free-runner and Damien Clarkson, Vegan Futures founder and vegan warrior.
