Over recent months I’ve discovered a love of chocolate. Call me late to the party on this, but prior to the latest period of lockdown I’ve not been the biggest eater of chocolate. Peanut butter by the spoonful, yes. Flapjacks, yes. Chocolate, not so much.
This new ‘discovery’ has been accompanied by a whole new world of chocolatey products. Amongst them has been the new and delicious handcrafted, organic and nutrient packed chocolate from Simsante.
About Simsante
Simsante was launched in November 2020. They offer a vegan-friendly, dark chocolate collection infused with grains, natural essential oils, protein rich nuts, gut strengthening spices and seeds packed with omega 3.
The founder of Simsante, Simrin Singh, is a nutritionist. Her dual passion for nutrition and chocolate led her to develop a selection of guilt-free nutritious chocolate bars. Using only natural, plant-based ingredients, rich in protein and antioxidants, Simsante chocolate bars are bursting with goodness and sweetness only from natural ingredients and no refined sugars.
Simrin says:
Over the years, we have always been conditioned to believe that chocolate is a treat, a guilty pleasure. I wanted to change that misconception by using natural sweeteners, spices and other plant based ingredients to make ‘Super Chocolate’, pure, natural, guilt free indulgence.
Letterbox-friendly chocolate delivery
In my sample box I enjoyed the Protein Crunch bar and the Coconutty coconut milk chocolate bar.
The protein crunch bar is bursting with nuts. It includes protein rich peanut butter, vitamin E packed hazelnuts, 70% organic dark chocolate, roasted almonds, jaggery (an unrefined sugar), organic coconut oil, Himalayan pink salt, cinnamon and almond Flakes. It is really rich and delicious, crunchy and satisfying.
The Coconutty chocolate includes raw cashew nut butter, roasted hazelnuts and almonds and crushed walnuts. Coconut milk, rich in antioxidants is known to strengthen the immune system, have anti inflammatory properties. Other ingredients include puffed quinoa and amaranth, pumpkin, sunflower, lotus and melon seeds, cinnamon, Himalayan pink salt, cocoa butter and vanilla cane sugar.
It was tasty and crunchy but sweeter than the dark chocolate bar. If you have both of these flavours in a pack I suggest you sample this one first as it’s delicious but after the darker chocolate tastes quite sweet.
A perfect subscription gift
The packaging of the taster box was beautiful and these letterbox-friendly boxes would make a perfect gift for chocolate lovers. There are a variety of flavours on offer, with coffee, orange, matcha, turmeric and chai options, to name but a few.
There are options for one-off, weekly and monthly deliveries of taster boxes (4 bars) and indulgence boxes (12 bars).
For a beautifully packaged, guilt-free, delicious chocolate treat, I couldn’t recommend Simsante more!
