CRAFT Sportswear is a Swedish brand that creates high-performing kit for runners and cyclists. The SS18 collection is lightweight, fast-wicking and affordable leisure apparel, that fuses function with fashion. Healthy Living London’s Lucinda gave the summer kit a test run..
HOW DOES IT FIT?
I love the Eaze singlet. It’s a really lightweight fabric, that is very cool and comfortable to wear. It hangs loosely – and is quite long as well, skimming the hips which is a flattering fit and great if you are longer in the body too.
I found the sizing of the CRAFT tops to come up on the smaller size. I am a UK size 12, and am 175cm tall. I do have an athletic build, but I found my usual size M was too tight under the arms and across the bust. I switched up to a size L and it fits perfectly, with plenty of room for movement. The fit is quite loose around the body as well, which helps you feel extra cool in the hotter summer months.
The Eaze tights in particular are so comfortable. There is absolutely no restriction of movement, or feeling like they are too tight around the legs, thigh or waste band. I found my usual size M in the leggings fitted me just fine. They are quite long in the leg, great for taller women, but bear this in mind if you’re on the shorter side..you may have a little excess material around the ankle! That said, they feel so comfortable when you put them on, honestly like a second skin, I have no problem with them being slightly on the longer side. The fabric is really soft and the moisture wicking technology is really efficient. The tights also feature a useful key pocket along the inside waist band, and mesh at the back of the legs. As part of the summer collection, they are pretty thin, so it would be advisable to choose your underwear wisely!
FINAL THOUGHTS
I really like the feel of the CRAFT kit. It’s incredibly soft, particularly the Eaze tights, which are shaped for optimal freedom of movement. The kit washes well and retains its shape, but I have noticed after a couple of wears, the seam on the inner thigh of the tights is starting to fray and given how thin the material is, I am not sure whether I will wear through them more quickly than other brands. That said, CRAFT kit is incredibly good value for money. The range is very affordable and the fabric still offers everything you’d hope for from technical sportswear. It looks great on too!
