A cup of tea makes everything better right? I will admit I do love a cup of tea – so much so that when my brother asked what I would like for my birthday one year I asked for a tea caddy for all my special teas (don’t judge me). So it’s always exciting to be able to test out new teas, like We are Tea’s latest range.
We Are Tea have a new range of teas, which include four functional teas that are:
- Protect – echinacea, rosehips and elderflower, to refresh and revive
- Soothe – mint, ginger and fennel, described as tummy tlc to help with bloat
- Alert – gingko, peppermint and ginseng, to balance energy levels
- Sleep – lavender and chamomile, to help with a good night’s sleep
With time off over Christmas and not the best weather I took advantage of getting in extra cycling miles and so these teas came at just the right time to try out.
During winter months I often take echinacea to try and stave off any bugs so the protect bags were fab. I’ve been starting my day with the alert tea bags and finishing them with the sleep tea bags. The soothe have been a godsend with all the extra indulgences that come with too much good food and drink!
I have also finished the English Breakfast teas and the Moroccan Mint teas. I am partial to any sort of mint tea, always a firm favourite of mine and this one is a green tea but without the bitter aftertaste some green teas can have. In fact, none of the teas had any aftertaste at all and not even one I didn’t like.
We Are Tea offer ‘guilt free sipping’ not just in terms of the ingredients that are all high-quality loose-leaf teas but also with regards to the packaging. The bags are biodegradable and packaging recyclable. They are also members of the Ethical Tea Partnership meaning they work with tea estates worldwide with a focus on sustainability.
Their website helps you figure out what tea is right for you and a quick selection takes you to the appropriate tea!
There are also recipes available in the blog section of the website using the tea bags – there are some I will be trying. I have made earl grey cupcakes before and as much as some thought they sounded odd they were delicious, so I am sure the mint chocolate brownies on the site will be yummy.
More Information
The tea bags are available from their website, wearetea.com, and Ocado and are priced at £2.49 at present for a box of 15 bags. As a premium tea bag this is a lot cheaper than other leading brands offering similar products.
