Hannah’s Christmas wish list is inspired by the fitness and wellness events that she has attended this year, as well as a few favourite staples that she loves. Although Hannah is the ‘Bridget Jones’ of Healthy Living London, she is always keen to throw herself into any most of the tasks that are presented to her. This year alone she has; floated in Yue Float‘s pod, discovered Freda’s organic cotton tampons, met the boys from Wicked Kitchen, posed in several Bellum Active outfits, run around in Saucony trainers, interviewed some awesome people, spoken openly about gut health with the MacTwins at the Gut Stuff, discovered LEVELSIX Studios in the awesome Peckham Levels… to mention but a few. What a busy and inspiring year it has been. Here’s to a happy and healthy…ish – (let’s be realistic!) 2019!
Hannah’s Christmas Wish List 2018
Having recently attended two of the Gut Stuff’s events, I am increasingly educating myself on gut health and the importance of a healthy microbiome. Lisa and Alana have created the Gut Stuff: The book, a filofax with healthy tips and advice. It has a diary section, so that you can monitor your gut health based on your intake AND outtake and it comes with poo stickers! With bumper packs, such as recipes and mindfulness, you can truly personalise your book. Pledge to buy it here.
2.) Bellum Active’s Pura Range
I have a cool collection of Bellum Active’s printed workout clothes and I love them for a bit of color and zest. However, sometimes a girl just needs to wear black. Plus, the Pura range is environmentally conscious – made with 65% recycled yarn. Buy it here.
3.) Nike Women’s Tidal Riot Fastback Onepiece
I love swimming, especially in the ocean. I have a few fun swimsuits and bikinis, but I don’t have any that are for ‘proper’ swimming! This Nike suit is both fun as well as being designed for doing those laps! Stretchy material and colours that won’t fade in chlorine, ‘cos let’s face it, unless you live in the sunny tropics, the local lido will have to do. Buy it here.
4.) Sweaty Betty’s Festive Star Base Layers
My mother told me that I would grow out of liking stars and hearts one day, but nope, she was wrong. I still love stars, hearts and dolphins and Disney… why not hey? I am also someone that feels the cold, so these Sweaty Betty base layers are ideal; a beautiful teal, with stars, that will keep me warm. Buy it here.
John Lewis offer Red Letter Days – like a gift voucher for you to pick the activity you want. I love this idea as it’s unique, not the usual voucher, and you get to pick from activities such as zorbing, canyoning, wakeboarding, white water rafting… Fun! Buy it here.
6.) Aromatherapy Associates Ultimate Wellbeing Set
I love Aromatherapy Associates, even though they are a tad expensive. This wellness set includes a variety of their bath & shower oils. Super relaxing, these oils are a great addition to any bath tub, and they smell lovely too! Buy it here.
A lovely book, that is a great price too… perfect for a secret Santa gift! Whether you believe in astrology or not, even the most curious would find it hard not to take a peak… I’ve always been fascinated in astrology. If the moon and tides can have an impact on women’s monthly cycles, why can’t the stars have an impact on our lives too… Buy it here.
In a world where plastic is piling up and having devastating consequences on our environment, it is thoughtful to choose products that are more environmentally friendly. These reusable straws from Etsy are great. They have a plethora of colors and designs, plus you can personalise your straw too, with ideas like ‘Suck on this’… these straws are the perfect fun stocking filler! Buy it here.
9.) ZeroWater’s 12-cup Filter Jug
I live in an old Georgian house and am a little concerned that the pipes I drink water from might be nearly as old. (Not quite, I know they didn’t have the luxury of running water in the home then). So, after some research, I have found ZeroWater’s 12-cup water jug. These useful water jugs filter out all the nasties. They have even been tested on wine, leaving nothing, but pure water behind… why! But this test proves how efficient these jugs are. Also, I love that their sealed lids mean that there is no spillage; with other jugs, when you’ve recently added water, but pour yourself a glass before all the water has filtered, you often end up with spilt water or non-filtered water pouring out. I want one. Buy it here.
Bonus Gift – Riverheart Retreats
I would love to go on a retreat somewhere that’s warm. There are many options out there, but I recently discovered Riverheart Retreats who focus on yoga, meditation and wellness. Near Malaga in Spain, this would be the perfect new year getaway, for a healthy start to 2019. They have several options, including a beginner’s retreat and a writer’s getaway. Plus, they have a pool! Take a look at their website here.
Merry Christmas everyone and a healthy and happy new year!
