It’s that time of year again; Christmas has been and gone and you’re left feeling a little pickled and possibly quite delicate so there’s only one thing for it, DRY JANUARY. Yep you think, a month of no booze should see you (and your wallet) right. For the first couple of days you’re fine, but then the novelty of drinking orange and lemonade wears off. Everyone else’s drinks look way more interesting and before you know it there’s a gin and slim in your hand. But don’t fear, this year will be different. We’ve got your back with a round up of all the drinks we’re necking while we try to steer clear of the Prosecco!
Seedlip
If you’re a cocktail lover but want to skip the hangover then Seedlip is for you. The world’s first non-alcoholic spirit, Seedlip is perfect if you want something a bit special and we love the delicious Thai-inspired cocktails the team at The Begging Bowl in Peckham have rustled up for those who are trying their best not to drink.
Seltzer
There’s been a real resurgence in seltzer (carbonated water) over the last few years and it’s now established as the drink of choice for the hip who don’t drink. Get into seltzer and you’ll never go thirsty, especially with delicious flavours available from the likes of DASH water, Ugly, LOVEAU and Aqua Libra. The world is your sparkling oyster.
DRGN
Need a little something extra to power you though the dark winter nights? DRGN might be the answer. A fusion of eastern alchemy and western science this wonder drink is infused with superfoods like turmeric, ginger and ginseng as well as vitamins and electrolytes that are known to reduce fatigue and give you that natural rehydrating lift you need to get through those tough days.
Nosecco
There are times in life that you need to toast. Engagements, birthday’s, Fridays, whatever it is the temptation to give in to a glass of delicious fizz can be too much, blowing the whole dry January thing out the water. But hold back, we’ve got you covered – Nosecco Alcohol Free Sparkling Wine, so you can still celebrate in style.
Alcohol Free Beer
Yes, alcohol free beer has a terrible reputation but hear me out! Things have come a long way with the likes of Mikkeller’s ‘Drink’In in the Sun’ and Brewdog’s ‘Nanny State’ leading the way when it comes to booze free beers that let you enjoy the taste without the headache.
Kombucha
We’ve always loved the tangy taste of ‘buch and it’s the perfect drink when you’re trying to stay away from booze simply because it’s a bit more interesting than your standard soft drink. We especially love Jarr Kombucha, not just because it’s made in East London (and we like to keep things local), but also because you can make some yummy cocktails with it.
