Note: The Peanut Butter Probiotic treats from Pooch & Mutt were gifted, but all opinions are our own.
As a professional food, drinks, and lifestyle photographer and videographer, and chef, Susie knows quality when she sees it. Her rescue dog, Peanut, is also a pro at sniffing out high quality treats. A couple of packs of Pooch & Mutt’s Peanut Butter Probiotic Nutty Treats landed on their Dorset doorstep which got Peanut’s tail wagging.
The Nutty Treats are mostly made from peas, but also contain tapioca, glycerol – which is commonly used in foods (both animal and human) as a preservative, stabiliser, and sweetener – peanut butter and Lactobacillus helveticus which is the probiotic. In Susie’s eyes, they’re all high-quality ingredients with doggy appeal.
Peanut literally went nuts for these Peanut treats. He absolutely loved them. Wet food can upset his stomach so all the food he has must be good quality.
However, at £3.99 per pack (£2.99 on subscription), these doggy snacks are a bit on the pricey side, offering 20-25 bites in each package. For Peanut, they’ll be kept as a once-a-day special treat.
The treats are also quite large, so would be better for medium to large sized dogs.
Final verdict
They’re the perfect size for Peanut who’s a medium-sized dog, contain quality ingredients and also support digestive health. If Peanut had been allowed, he would have scoffed the lot in one go! Keep these on a high-shelf, or in a secure cupboard.
Pooch & Mutt do a range of high quality cat and dog food. The Peanut Butter treats which Peanut tried (not at all confusing!) are vegan, grain-free and also contain special ingredients such as lignocellulose for fibre, tapioca which is ideal for dogs with allergies or sensitivites and probiotics to aid digestion.
