Since it is nearing the end of the summer, I’ve already started to prepare the garden for the final summer charade.
One of the first questions that came to mind was “What food should I prepare for my guests who have a wide range of dietary preferences?” What could I possibly prepare that the meat-eaters would still approve of, but the Vegetarians could still enjoy?
The “classic BBQ” came to mind, though I needed to find something not only edible by all but enjoyable, texture-terrific and flavorful! This was the party finale of the season after all.
Below, you’ll find my perfect summer party recipe that is insanely easy to re-create, and enjoyable for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike!
First up, THE BURGER
Made with Heura Vegan Burger Patty’s, it’s hard to go wrong with this meal. Heura’s burgers are meatless, vegan and created from pea protein. They are so juicy and fresh, it will be hard for the meat-eaters to have any critiques.
For those who don’t have gluten intolerance, I provided the option of whole-wheat buns. I also have an additional option for my gluten-free friends that is a little versatile for a standard burger, which is wrapping the patty in BFree Gluten-Free Wraps. These delicious and light wraps – available in Quinoa & Chia Seed, Multigrain and Sweet Potato – make you want to style your burger differently.
Lastly, you can’t have a great burger without some great toppings and sauces. BeSaucy had a phenomenal range of vegan mayo including Vegan Garlic, Vegan Basil and my personal favourite, Vegan Black Truffle. These sauces were truly so tasty, I was starting to eat the jars up before the party even started.
Another great topping for those who like a little spiciness and tang to their meal is a little scoop of Yumchi Kimchi just on top of the burger. I have to admit, I am a bit biased when it comes to this topping, as I am a Kimchi fanatic, but this kimchi truly has an addictive kick while also being a super gut-cleansing health food!
On the side, we have The SPECIALTY SALAD
Naturally, I went to the shop to get some organic lettuce leaves, which I washed, cut and threw together in the bowl. Though, let’s be honest, the lettuce though essential, is not what gives a salad flavour.
To kick up this healthy side a notch, I added in a bag of Munchy Seeds Sweet Chili flavour, which is Gluten-Free and plant-based fibre sources along with vitamins E. This mix contains sunflower and pumpkin seeds, sugar, dried chilli flakes and salt. This mix is a perfect way to give a healthy crunch to your salads and comes in a wide assortment of flavours.
To dress the top of this gorgeous side-dish, I picked up one of LUCY’S Dressing options.
These award-winning dressings come in some great options like Creamy Caesar, Honey Mustard, Ginger and Sesame and many more. I choose Ginger and Sesame, as I felt that It went best with the toppings of the burger and also sounded unique and refreshing, and I did not regret that choice!
To finish off my salad, I threw in a few additional veggies like chopped cucumber and tomato and set a bowl of feta cheese on the side.
This was such an easy, tasty and healthy meal to create for a large group that I’m going to keep this one as a go-to for future parties!
