This week, a giant box arrived at my door and I have never been more thrilled. This special box happened to contain a variety of all-organic goodies from Biona and I would be using these luscious products to make healthy and scrumptious meals throughout the week.
Upon opening the box, I found three varieties of pasta including Italian Wholegrain, White Italian Pasta and Tricolored Spelt Fusilli. There was also Tomato Basil Soup, Black Chickpeas, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Rye Bread, Almond Butter, Oat Milk. Granola, Spelt Pretzels with Sesame and Chocolate Chip Orange Cookies.
Now I just had to work out what meals to make with all of these organic goods!
I focused on breakfast first. I settled on making my own protein smoothie bowl that would keep me powering through the morning.
I grabbed the Biona granola and oat milk and additionally, some frozen berries and bananas from the local shop. I blended together with the berries and banana, adding a splash of oat milk and protein powder to the mix. I poured the fabulous mixture into a bowl and topped it with granola and fresh fruit to give it a little pizazz, and voila!
This was the perfect way to start my day, eating a protein-rich, organic smoothie bowl. I was proud of myself knowing that I would have paid £12 at a cafe for this beauty.
Moving onto lunch, I decided to make my own hummus with Biona Black Chickpeas and Extra Virgin Olive oil and use the rye bread as the complimentary dipping piece to this meal.
Using my handy Ninja blender, I blended in the can of chickpeas, two tablespoons of olive oil, one tablespoon of lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of water, a pinch of garlic salt and a hint of fresh ground pepper.
I can say the mixture didn’t look like your traditional hummus, as I did decide to switch the recipe up using black chickpeas, but it certainly tasted just as delicious (if not more) than my store-bought hummus. I finished off the meal by toasting my rye bread, and lunch was served!
Naturally, having so many tempting pasta options, I made a tomato, basil, wholegrain pasta dish for dinner. It’s quite difficult to make pasta taste bad, so I knew I could make this standard recipe into something delicious having nearly all Biona ingredients for this recipe.
I used Biona Italian Wholegrain Pasta and blended in some tomato paste to the Biona Tomato Basil Soup, thickening the liquid, turning it into a gorgeous textured sauce. Since no good pasta could be complete without a sprinkle… or handful of cheese, I topped my Italian masterpiece with some fresh mozzarella.
Final Verdict
I’ve been really pleased with all of the meals made throughout the day with my Organic Biona ingredients. Each of their products truly tastes fresh and I know that I’m putting something good into the meals I’m consuming.
The Biona brand has been around and trusted since 1978 and traces the source of each ingredient they use in their products. This means that each ingredient is of the highest standard and completely natural, which is certainly impressive and not often seen in companies that mass-produce. Kudos Biona!
