We are living in a world where you can order pretty much anything you need via a few swipes and taps on your smart phone and TruBe is exactly that, this is Fitness-on-demand, a PT session is now literally only an app download and a few moments away. Amy from HLL was asked to have a trial session to see how it works…
How does it work?
You can download the TruBe app for free and in moments get booking straight away. It took me a few minutes to get used to the functionality of the app – so here’s a breakdown. You can go either two ways about your session booking – first you could search for a specific trainer and send a booking request to them directly. The second way is to click on the ‘Start Booking’ button and you will be asked to put in the date, time and location of when you want to have a PT session, then basically let the app do the rest! The app will send this request to all trainers that are available and the trainers will then respond as to whether they are able to take the session. You can check back in the app to see these responses and then choose the trainer that you feel is most suited to your needs. Each trainer has a page with a rating and breakdown on their specialties, so you can choose exactly what type of session you require from yoga to boxing or HIIT to pilates. Once you have chosen a trainer the app then allows you to text each other to make the final meeting arrangements between yourselves.
My TruBe training session
I chose a lovely trainer called Vivien Monory who specialises in strength conditioning, postural correction and HIIT. She met me in a fantastic private square in West London only about 5 minutes from my house – it could not have been more convenient if we tried! All I had to do was turn up and Vivien brought along all the equipment needed, mat and resistance bands etc and she took me through a very thorough and seamless full body workout in the most tranquil setting. I opted for an early morning session and the private garden was completely empty throughout so it was a wonderful start to the day and there is even a small covered area which Vivien says she uses when it is raining. Vivien was brilliant – she was easy to talk to and constantly paid close attention to form and making sure the workout was focused on everything I asked for at the beginning of the session. I had a really great experience from start to finish and definitely felt the app delivered what it promised.
Verdict
TruBe was very easy to use and I loved the way you could choose a trainer you felt would suit you the best, it is so important to feel comfortable with your PT. It is such a quick and convenient way to book a PT session – and the app functionality is great, once you press the ‘start booking’ button it guides you through very easily. I think TruBe would be great for a wide variety of people – for those with difficult schedules, for those that are training for something specific and need some targeted workouts, if you are not a member of gym and unsure where or how to kick off your training or if you are like me and already training a lot but love the idea of adding some variety to your routine!
