This avocado seed smoothie will have you thinking about avocados differently. No longer will you be throwing away this nutritious little seed! It’s a proper powerhouse of antioxidants and fibre which is great for your gut health. That’s right, you can totally eat avocado seeds! Don’t waste any opportunity to fill up on extra nutrients.
Never time you use an avocado in a salad, smoothie or on toast (who doesn’t love avo toast?) instead of throwing away that big chunky seed, wash it and set it aside – after all, it’s full of goodness! There’s many ways you can use avocado pips in your food but probably the easiest is to blend it into a smoothie. This healthy smoothie recipe is rich in nutrients and the mango and lime offset the bitter avocado seed.
Ingredients
- 1 Avocado seed
- 1/2 Avocado
- 2 cups nut milk
- 1/2 frozen mango
- 3 balls of frozen spinach
- 1 lime, rind cut off
Method
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend well. Serve and consume immediately!
