Healthy Living London’s Hannah Cox participated in BioCare‘s ‘Spring Energy Challenge’. The 60 day challenge saw participants take BioCare’s food supplements, ‘Methyl Multinutrient’ and ‘Magnesium Citrate’, that help combat fatigue and can help you feel more energised. Food supplements are concentrated sources of nutrients that can be taken as a top-up with food. These BioCare products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans and are packed with vitamins and minerals that complement a healthy lifestyle. So, did they make Hannah feel more energised?
Food supplements and vitamins are very important to me as I am a vegetarian. They help me top-up necessary nutrients that I may not be getting enough of from a mainly plant-based diet. Also, admittedly, I am not the healthiest person, as I do enjoy a pizza or a Pimms occasionally, therefore, it is even more important for me to ensure that I am taking and absorbing the minerals and vitamins that my body needs. (And not just relying on the fruit in Pimms to provide this for me!) 🍹
“We use the best possible ingredients and processes to ensure our products are of the highest quality. Some of our products are independently tested to ensure they meet the stringent purity standards required by WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) for athletes.” BioCare
The Methyl Multinutrient capsule is packed with vitamins and minerals that are essential for a healthy lifestyle. Despite the fact that these little capsules make my urine look like I’d been binging on asparagus, they have become an essential part of my diet. I feel secure in the knowledge that my body is receiving what it needs to help me feel healthier, as well as allowing me to have plenty of energy for whatever dance class I have coming up.
BioCare’s Magnesium Citrate is great for me as magnesium aids in the recovery of muscle pain, as well as helping to maintain your energy levels. I suffer with shoulder pain and have often taken magnesium to help with this. I have a magnesium muscle spray, as well as bath salts and these capsules have tackled the pain from within!
“Magnesium contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, normal functioning of the nervous system, normal muscle function and normal psychological function.” BioCare (I reckon my boyfriend will mostly appreciate the ‘normal psychological function’!)
So, Do I Feel More Energised?
With any supplement, it’s extremely hard to prove the outcome as it’s completely subjective. I can tell you how I feel… I do feel healthier and more energetic, but I can’t prove that this is because of the supplements; I’m sure the beautiful sunny weather has helped my mood here too. However, I do feel more confident in my nutritional health when taking BioCare’s food supplements, Methyl Multinutrient and Magnesium Citrate, as I am secure in the knowledge that my body is getting all the nutrients that it needs, that I may not wholly receive from my diet alone.
I love that these capsules are suitable for vegans; no nasty animal additives here; they are vegetable capsules. They do contain soya, so they may not be suitable to those that can not take soya.
They are a tad pricey, the Methyl Multinutrient is £30.95 for 60 capsules and the Magnesium Citrate is £16.45 for 90 capsules. Despite this, I like this brand. They are designed and manufactured in the UK, plus, BioCare provides “…nutrients in the most bioavailable forms and avoid the use of unnecessary additives and allergens to create a range of hypoallergenic products suited to the most sensitive individuals.” BioCare
