Myvitamins are a health and wellness company that sell a range of supplements, vitamins and beauty must-haves. Sometimes your diet can lack certain vitamins, so adding a supplement of a vitamin that you are low in, into your diet can be seen to be highly beneficial.
In January 2021, I trialled out four vitamin gummies from the Myvitamins range. I took one gummy of each product a day in order to see if I could see any difference in my overall health and wellness over the month. Alongside this I started tracking my nutrition on MyFitnessPal to see what nutrients I was lacking. My nutrition is well balanced. However, I do know that I can always increase my fruit and veg in my diet and I have a devilish sweet tooth.
Below are the four products that I trialled
Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies
I had heard a lot about the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar and friends recommended that I try it out. Benefits are said to include improved digestion, lower blood sugar levels, lower blood pressure and improved heart health.
I had previously tried it straight in liquid form. For anyone who has also done this, you will know that it is not the nicest thing to do and has an acquired taste.
When I trialled it in gummy form, I was pleasantly surprised that they tasted nice and had a strong apple flavour rather than vinegar.
Overall, I don’t feel as bloated so definitely have noticed a difference in my digestion.
Hair, Skin & Nails Gummies
These gummies contain zinc and biotin to contribute to the maintenance of normal hair, skin and nails alongside Vitamin C and Vitamin B6, which helps reduce tiredness and fatigue. The taste is of blueberry, but actually tastes a little artificial.
My Hair, Skin and Nails are in the best condition I’ve had them in a while. My nail growth is off the scale!
Multivitamin Gummies
These gummies contain a complex blend of Vitamin A, C and D Vitamins, which help to support the maintenance of your skin and bones. They also contain Iron and Biotin. The taste is of strawberry, which tasted okay but similar to the above in the artificial taste.
Gut Gummies
Each gummy contains 1 billion live cultures, as well as 40mg Vitamin C, which contribute to the normal function of the immune system and reduction of tiredness and fatigue. The taste is of berries, which tasted similar to the other gummies above.
Final thoughts
Overall, I have enjoyed trialling out the Myvitamins range. It is incredibly important to your research first or to contact a health professional or nutritionist, when adding in supplements/vitamins to your diet.
From testing out the above, I did feel that my overall health and wellness has improved. I am less bloated, less fatigued and seem to be sleeping better. From tracking what I have been taking alongside my nutrition on MyFitnessPal, it has also shown me that I need to be careful with how many different supplements I am taking because sometimes the end result could be taking too much of one type of vitamin. For example: Vitamin C was present in most of the gummies above, taking me way over my daily allowance.
Going forward, I have decided to purchase the Myvitamins Iron & Folic Acid pills and the Multivitamin gummies, as I was lacking Iron and Vitamin C in my diet. It can be great to add in extra vitamins to your diet but only when you know you are not getting them from your food.
Please do consult a health practitioner or fitness professional, if you have any queries upon adding supplements into your diet.
